Services:
The NICU provides advanced neonatal intensive care for critically ill infants and premature new-borns, up to 3 months of age. Our team coordinates all aspects of care for associated complications and conditions, including:
| • All aspects of care for the premature infant |
| • Major neurologic disorders including hydrocephalus, myelomeningocele and other CNS disorders |
| • Premature and term infants with respiratory distress/failure |
| • Genetic and/or metabolic disorders |
| • Sepsis or septic shock |
| • Renal disorders, including hydronephrosis, posterior urethral valves, renal failure, and others |
| • Coagulation defects |
| • Gastrointestinal disorders |
| • Major surgical needs |
| • Congenital heart disease |
Facilities:
| • When your baby is ready to leave the NICU, the Neonatal High Risk Follow-up Clinic, evaluates NICU graduates in an outpatient setting. |
| • 16-bedded NICU unit equipped and staffed to deliver a full range of tertiary and quaternary care to critically ill neonates; |
| • Specially-trained neonatal nurses available for one-on-one patient care |
| • Neonatologists, paediatric house officers and neonatal nurse practitioners provide coverage to the unit, including 24-hour inhouse staff neonatology coverage |
| • Subspecialists from all paediatric disciplines available on-site for consultation 24 hours a day |
